This base rock is made from 100% natural aragonite and is full of naturally formed holes and crevices, creating interesting shapes that are easy to stack when building reef structures. Its porous structure acts as a natural biological filter and provides an ideal environment for beneficial marine bacteria to thrive, helping to reduce nitrates and support a healthier aquarium system.

This rock is an excellent choice for culturing live rock or building aquascapes. Creating a natural environment is essential for growing and maintaining healthy corals, and this rock helps provide that foundation. Each piece is deep-water soaked to prevent leaching, then thoroughly cleaned and cured through a drying process that leaves it inert (or “dead”) and free of organic material, aside from some natural dust that may occur during transport. Because it is inert, it will not trigger a new cycle in your tank. Another advantage of this type of dry aragonite rock is that it contains no biofilm, which can sometimes discourage coral attachment and algae growth.

Available in a range of sizes from approximately 4 to 8 inches, these pieces can be arranged in countless ways to create unique reef layouts. Over time, the rock will naturally recruit life from existing live rock or live sand in your system. Coralline algae, invertebrates, and other marine organisms will gradually colonize both the surface and interior, bringing the rock to life and integrating it fully into your reef ecosystem.
